On 07 June, Freia whelped 6 puppies, only 3 of which survived. The first was dead, malformed and breach, causing a blockage that caused 2 of the remaining pups to have detached placentas and suffocate before exiting the birth canal. Of the 3 which survived, 2 are female (1 chocolate, 1 black) and 1 is male (buckskin red-nosed).
The intent for these pups is to focus on training. They will provide excellent practice for me and my trainers as well as demonstrate the kind of dog Cosmo can produce. If these turn out to be excellent representatives of the APBT, we will look to outcross Cosmo to a larger breed. In the mean-time, standby for updates on how these pups progress and what kind of qualities they demonstrate. Freia is proving to be an excellent mother.
